About this cutter: Chris & Tae Calentine have been "rock and jewelry" enthusiasts for many years. Several years ago they began Calentine-by-Design. Chris' work is predominantly 'freeform' cabochons in semi-precious stones, mounted with precious metal wire. Chris will many times simply cut a slab, tap it with a hammer to break, and use the pieces in the shape that they break in. About this cutter: I've been faceting gemstones since 1978. I cut all stone types, but prefer tourmalines, garnets, spinels, and corundums. Not to be stuck in a rut, I've been cutting more exotic species recently, like hackmanite, basnaesite, and actinolite (collector's stones). When cutting, my goal is to produce the finest stone possible from the rough at hand. Perfect polish, perfect meets; these are starting points for every stone cut.
