DESCRIPTION:

Spectacular lot of Afghan Tourmaline running from a Neon Parrot Green to a Sea-Foam Bluish Green. These are a SUPER lovely Neon color for the most part (There are 2-3 pastels in here) and almost all of these are chunky crystal sections. These are all a nice size with the average being around 4.5 carats. Please note that most of the stones in this lot will cut eye-clean or better with the bulk being able to facet 10x clean. After a careful run through the lot we spotted roughly 3 stones that had some inclusions on the periphery that would facet out with a little effort to produce eye-clean or better stones. In addition, we spotted 1 stone that would probably facet very slightly to slightly included. Overall this is a great investment lot and you only really need to cut 1-2 stones from here to break even.

This is the material that you see retailing for $12.00+ per carat! This is TOP faceting grade material and there are quite a few killer pieces in here. We are confident you will get 1-2+ carat gems from practically every stone in here. Practically every stone in the lot is a nice and chunky crystal section capable of giving above average yield. This is a great deal and likely to go quick so don't pass this by!

COOL FACTS:
  1. Afghan Tourmaline pockets tend to be relatively small in size and as a result consistency in color & quality is a rarity! We have never seen Afghan Tourmaline sold by the kilo with like colored and quality material and lots are generally small in size seldom going over 1/2-1 kilo.

  2. All Afghan Tourmaline is exhumed from primary deposits and as a result mining costs are considerably higher due to dynamite expenditures and traveling expenditures to get to remote mining areas. It is also interesting to note that since all Afghan Tourmaline is from primary deposits most rough will usually have sharp crystal faces.
