Awesome lot of Neon Blue & Green and Pink Afghan Tourmaline Facet Rough. This is the legendary material that has made Afghani Tourmaline the most coveted Tourmaline in the world. The colors in this lot are just breath taking with a nice mix of Pinks & Blues and a few Neon Greens. I would say that roughly 60%+ of this material is medium to top facet grade. These pieces are generally for accent stones averaging around 1.25 carats each and most suitable for commercial cutting. From my overview of the material the Blues and Greens generally tend to be larger on average than the Pinks and if you were to take out the smallest 10-20% or so of stones  your stone average would go up considerably. You should get a few pieces that will cut over a carat or possibly two with a little work. This is another bargain not to be missed! I don't know where else you will find Afghan Tourmaline at such an affordable price!

1. Afghan Tourmaline pockets tend to be relatively small in size and as a result consistency in color& quality is a rarity! We have never seen Afghan Tourmaline sold by the kilo with like colored and quality material and lots are generally small in size seldom going over 1/2-1 kilo.

2. All Afghan Tourmaline is exhumed from primary deposits and as a result mining costs are considerably higher due to dynamite expenditures and traveling expenditures to get to remote mining areas. It is also interesting to note that since all Afghan Tourmaline is from primary deposits most rough will usually have sharp crystal faces.
