Super lot of TOP Afghan Tourmaline Facet Rough that runs from an electric blue & greenish blue to a nice minty blue/green color. This is the material Afghanistan is known for. This lot is running roughly 90%+ eye-clean and most stones should easily cut eye-clean or better. There are a few stones with minor inclusions; however, these are confined to the periphery most of the time and will facet out relatively easily. Most of these are nice blocky crystal sections and you will undoubtedly get high weight returns for most cut stones! This is a nice mix of Afghan Tourmaline priced to sell!

This is Top faceting grade material with most stones capable of producing an eye-clean or better gem. Please note that the pictures really don't do the material justice. This stuff has to be seen to be fully appreciated.

1. Afghan Tourmaline pockets tend to be relatively small in size and as a result consistency in color & quality is a rarity! We have never seen Afghan Tourmaline sold by the kilo with like colored and quality material and lots are generally small in size seldom going over 1/2-1 kilo.

2. All Afghan Tourmaline is exhumed from primary deposits and as a result mining costs are considerably higher due to dynamite expenditures and traveling expenditures to get to remote mining areas. It is also interesting to note that since all Afghan Tourmaline is from primary deposits most rough will usually have sharp crystal faces.
