Super Bicolored Vibrant Neon Turquoise to Bright Pink Afghan Tourmaline lot containing all crystals fully terminated at one end or both. This is the most sought after color in Afghan Tourmaline and pieces this large cost a premium! This was an odd lot that I had around and never posted up until now. Most of this material is very slightly included to slightly included with most major inclusions occurring where the color shifts from the Turquoise to Pink. There is a nice amount of facetable material in here at the smaller end; however, I don't know if that is what you would want to do with this lot. We estimate medium to high facet grade material to be around 35%.

I purchased this lot several years ago and it has just been gathering dust and rising in value. Current prices for this colored material in Afghanistan are about my asking price for the lot. Clean material in 1 gram sizes is running $20.00 per carat in Afghanistan in this color while pieces that go over 3 grams easily run $40.00+ per carat. There are quite a few killer stones in this lot and I have pictured them separately so you can see their real beauty! Several stones in here are large  and every stone is nice and chunky with amazing Neon Turquoise colors and capable of giving above average yield. I would really prefer that a crystal collector pick up this lot so as to preserve its natural beauty; however, it is just far more valuable and easier to sell as cutting grade material and that is why it is listed here. This lot is being sold as strictly cabbing grade and is priced as such; however,  It is one of the best bargains we have up with some killer stones that may warrant faceting!

1. Afghan Tourmaline pockets tend to be relatively small in size and as a result consistency in color& quality is a rarity! We have never seen Afghan Tourmaline sold by the kilo with like colored and quality material and lots are generally small in size seldom going over 1/2-1 kilo.

2. All Afghan Tourmaline is exhumed from primary deposits and as a result mining costs are considerably higher due to dynamite expenditures and traveling expenditures to get to remote mining areas. It is also interesting to note that since all Afghan Tourmaline is from primary deposits most rough will usually have sharp crystal faces.
