This is the material that has made Afghan Tourmaline the benchmark in Tourmaline perfection! It doesn't get much better than this (Nodules being the exception but there are even a few of those in here!). Almost every one of these is a SUPER lovely color and an ideally shaped crystal section (Many of the stones in here are practically preformed because of the crystal structure of Tourmaline). Much of this is the material that runs $200+ per carat once cut and is practically impossible to get your hands on in the rough. This material is being sold by the gram (or carat - whichever you prefer). Please note that most of the stones in this lot will cut eye-clean or better with the bulk being able to facet 10x clean; however, there are a few very slightly included stones that would be at max 5% but probably less and a few of these may facet very slightly included.

Practically every stone in here has been hand-selected as a cutter! Most of these should produce an Electric almost Pariaba Blue color. This material is indicative of the best that Afghanistan has to offer and is the stuff you see retailing for $15-$25.00+ per carat. We have a limited amount of this on hand so pick some up before it is gone!! PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS A 15 GRAM MINIMUM AND THIS MATERIAL IS SOLD ON A BLIND POUR BASIS ONLY! This minimum will go up in the near future as more material becomes available and is only being offered for trail purposes. Please note that the pictures really don't do the material justice. This stuff has to be seen to be fully appreciated.

1. Afghan Tourmaline pockets tend to be relatively small in size and as a result consistency in color& quality is a rarity! We have never seen Afghan Tourmaline sold by the kilo with like colored and quality material and lots are generally small in size seldom going over 1/2-1 kilo.

2. All Afghan Tourmaline is exhumed from primary deposits and as a result mining costs are considerably higher due to dynamite expenditures and traveling expenditures to get to remote mining areas. It is also interesting to note that since all Afghan Tourmaline is from primary deposits most rough will usually have sharp crystal faces.
