DESCRIPTION: |
Nice mixed lot of Afghan Morganite for Faceting and Cabbing. This material runs from a deep orangey peach to a pale pink in color. There are a few white stones in here; however, they are not a significant percentage of the total. This lot is a nice mix of Faceting and Cabbing grade with roughly 50%+ being medium to high grade facet rough. Most pieces are relatively large with the average stone being around 70 carats. There are some spectacular stones in here and we carefully photographed the best stone that is roughly 25% facet grade. This is the stone pictured above in the first two pictures (please use the penny for size estimates) and it should yield an extremely large very slightly to slightly included finished gem or several large gems that are eye-clean to slightly included. Most stones in this lot will need to be sawed and/or cobbed in order to extract the eye-clean and gemmy areas. You should be able to facet quite a few stones that run into several carats and larger with many being eye-clean out of this lot with a little hard work. Please don't be fooled by the pictures as many stones have a dull exterior yet house clean areas. |
