Vibrant Rose Red to Crimson Red Nigerian Garnet Facet Rough Lot. This is 80% facet grade material with almost every stone capable of producing eye-clean or better. The material overall is a bit small averaging 2 carats or so; however, the vibrancy of the color of this material is much better than indicated in the above pictures. This is some of the most vibrant red material we have gotten a hold of from Nigeria and are hopeful of establishing a regular supply in the near future. This lot was sent to us as a sample for reviewing and we are just moving it out the door to the lucky one who picks it up. The lot is priced to sell so don't miss out.

1. Nigerian and Namibian Mandarin Garnet deposits are fast being depleted with most of the earlier larger material gone already. Initial finds were alluvial in nature and as those sources are depleted more work will be required to unearth these treasures at the primary deposits. This in the end will boil down to higher prices and sporadic production.
