Lot of Paraiba Greenish Blue to apatite Neon Green Blue Fluorite from Nigeria. This lot was  sent to us as a sample of Apatite from Nigeria; however, it is clear that this material is Fluorite and NOT Apatite. The color on this material is actually bluer and greener than the above pictures indicate; however, the color shifts slightly depending on the light source. Most of these stones are nice and chunky with roughly 25%+ being facet grade. There are many stones in here that will facet eye-clean to very slightly included; however, if you took into consideration the slightly included stones the facet grade percentage of the lot would go up considerably. I would say about 15-20% of this material is top for clarity and color and a cutters dream come true. Most of this material is compact and should cut very well. We are blowing this lot away as it was sold as Apatite and we already have a source for Fluorite that is considerably cheaper than Nigerian sources.

This is a must have for the Fluorite collector and an oddity to find in the rough.  Many of the stones do contain some silk veiling, color banding and inclusions; however, after you cobb this material I'm confident you will want as much as you can get your hands on! This is some of the FINEST colored Fluorite we have seen in the market!

1. Nigeria has begun to produce Fluorite that rivals some of Afghanistan best in color and size. The material from Nigeria tends to have a greener overtone; however, the material is available in nice water worn nodules.
