Awesome colored Sapphire from a fairly New Find in Pakistan in close proximity to the Peridot mines. This stone unfortunately does have some inclusions which seems to be the norm for most of the material from the deposit we have encountered. You can read the publication in GIA's Journal on the find HERE. The stone has a very slight haze that runs through-out similar to Kashmir Sapphire and unlike anything we have encountered in the past. Stones from this deposit almost glow. This stone is moderately included and will probably cut a slightly included stone at best. It probably should ideally be cabbed due to the nature and positioning of the inclusions; however, the color on the stone truly is incredible. Please note there did look to be a minor color change on the stone; however, it didn't seem very pronounced in the rough but that may change upon faceting depending on orientation. |
