Large Mandarin Orange Spessartite from Afghanistan. This stone is unfortunately slightly to moderately included; however, it is large and gemmy for the locality. There are two options on this stone. You can opt to cut the cleanest stones possible and divide the rough into 2-3 faceted gems that are eye-clean to slightly included and probably between .5 and 1 carats or you can opt to cut a slightly to moderately included single stone. I would probably opt to cab this myself as I think it would make a spectacular cab. You will have to spend a little time on planning for this to get the best yield and clarity but it should yield a spectacular stone or two.
