New Find of an Incredible Yellowish Green Diopside from Badakshan, Afghanistan. There is a VERY limited find of this coming from Afghanistan from time to time and we had the find published in a 2006 issue of GIA's Gems & Gemology. We only have 3 pieces of Facet Rough we can offer at this time and this is one of them! The stone does have some minor inclusions concentrated primarily on the periphery. Most of these inclusions should facet out or mask up well with a little planning; however, there is one veil that looks almost like a phantom line that will be a bit problematic. You can opt to mask it up with the right orientation or you can opt to divide the stone up into a 65/35 split and cut two eye-clean to very slightly included stones. This is the LAST piece of this we have that is Facet Grade and it is unlikely we will be able to get more in the near future.
