DESCRIPTION:

Spectacular lot of Afghan Tourmaline with a lovely Windex Blue Color. This is some of the best colored material we have seen coming from Afghanistan in a very long time as far as Blues are considered. The price on this material usually makes it untouchable in the local markets; however, we were lucky to have this lot come by us at a reasonable price. The color on this material is mostly top with a few having some Green overtones; however, the quality and color of this material will floor you. If these stones were bigger we wouldn't be selling these for less than $40.00 per carat so this is a BARGAIN for the right person.  I'm confident that 85-90%+ of the stones in this lot should yield eye-clean or better finished gems with a little hard work. Overall this material is a bit on the small side; however, it is extremely difficult if not impossible to get this color in larger sizes.

Most of these are a SUPER lovely shade of Blue and almost every stone is a crystal section (Many of the stones in here are practically preformed because of the crystal structure of Tourmaline). This is some of the  best colored faceting grade Tourmaline you are likely to run into in quite some time at a decent price! This is one of the best colored lots we currently have up and it is one of our best deals likely to go quick so don't pass this by!

COOL FACTS:
  1. Afghan Tourmaline pockets tend to be relatively small in size and as a result consistency in color & quality is a rarity! We have never seen Afghan Tourmaline sold by the kilo with like colored and quality material and lots are generally small in size seldom going over 1/2-1 kilo.

  2. All Afghan Tourmaline is exhumed from primary deposits and as a result mining costs are considerably higher due to dynamite expenditures and traveling expenditures to get to remote mining areas. It is also interesting to note that since all Afghan Tourmaline is from primary deposits most rough will usually have sharp crystal faces.
