DESCRIPTION:

BREATHTAKING HUGE Electric Scope Blue to Bubblegum Pink Afghan Tourmaline Nodule!!! It is rare to see Afghan Tourmaline over a few grams and than to see a Bi-Color stone as lovely as this in the rough is next to impossible for under $30 Per Carat considering it is running 95% TOP Facet Grade. This is a crystal section; however, both ends are nodular and stones such as this are referred to as Nodules locally. This is the only piece we got of this unique color combination so grab it before it is gone.

Overall the stone is very slightly included having some inclusions COMPLETELY concentrated on the ends; however, most of these should easily facet out with normal faceting. There are some inclusions in the Scope Blue end that can also cut out resulting in Average Weight Loss; however, if you orient the stone properly to mask them you should get above average yield on this stone with ease. The stone is a nice chunky crystal section ideally shaped for high yield with an almost perfect bicolor division. Once we saw this stone we knew we had to have it up for our E-Newsletter! Don't miss out on this lovely stone at an unbelievable 32.96 CARATS! The size and price of this stone makes it a MUST have.

COOL FACTS:
  1. Afghan Tourmaline pockets tend to be relatively small in size and as a result consistency in color & quality is a rarity! We have never seen Afghan Tourmaline sold by the kilo with like colored and quality material and lots are generally small in size seldom going over 1/2-1 kilo.

  2. All Afghan Tourmaline is exhumed from primary deposits and as a result mining costs are considerably higher due to dynamite expenditures and traveling expenditures to get to remote mining areas. It is also interesting to note that since all Afghan Tourmaline is from primary deposits most rough will usually have sharp crystal faces.
