Awesome lot of Bright Bubblegum Pink to an almost Salmon Pink in color. This material is some lovely vibrant rough that is ideally shaped for high yield. This lot is running roughly 80%+ Top Facet Grade and most stones are nice chunky crystal sections. The owner of this material has assured us that it is Afghani in origin; however, we have never seen this vibrant Pink Tourmaline with the Salmon overtones coming from Afghanistan or Pakistan before. The seller of this lot has stated that it was purchased in Karachi which is usually a clear indication that the material is imported; therefore, we can't guarantee this material as being Afghani in origin.

Wherever this material is from the lot really is much better than the above pictures indicate and this is a great deal for this lovely color as it lacks the brown overtones commonly seen in Pink Tourmaline from locations outside of Pakistan & Afghanistan. Since we have never seen this color before we don't really anticipate on getting any more to offer so get this before it is gone!

1. Afghan Tourmaline pockets tend to be relatively small in size and as a result consistency in color & quality is a rarity! We have never seen Afghan Tourmaline sold by the kilo with like colored and quality material and lots are generally small in size seldom going over 1/2-1 kilo.

2. All Afghan Tourmaline is exhumed from primary deposits and as a result mining costs are considerably higher due to dynamite expenditures and traveling expenditures to get to remote mining areas. It is also interesting to note that since all Afghan Tourmaline is from primary deposits most rough will usually have sharp crystal faces.
