DESCRIPTION:

AWESOME Lot of NATURAL Vivid Cornflower Blue to Velvety Kashmir Blue Sapphire Gemstones from a fairly new find in Afghanistan. OK Folks, these are not the BEST Sapphires in the world but we are confident that you can't go wrong for the price. Heck, just 1 stone in here should pay for the lot. I don't know how this parcel came by my Partner and why he worked at listing it as it is too much work for a small parcel out from Pakistan. Overall, this material is probably more on the very slightly to slightly included end. There is a stone or two that could be considered Eye-clean; however, most stones are midway between Eye-Clean and Moderately Included. This is a very small sized lot and it is made affordable for everyone to taste a little Afghani Treasure. At $12.00 per carat do you think you should leave this behind?

COOL FACTS:
  1. Kashmir has long been the benchmark in Sapphire perfection; however, production has dwindled to a standstill over the last few decades. There are rumors that mining has been restarted though we really haven't seen any worthwhile material entering the market at a decent price. In addition to Kashmir there are several other locations within Pakistan and Afghanistan that have begun to produce Sapphire and Ruby over the last few years. There is great potential in the Sapphire and Ruby rough that comes from here as it is in its natural state not having been treated. Most sellers out here are looking for sources to treat their material but none seem to have had any luck so far.
