This is another NEW FIND of an Awesome Pastel Pink stone coming from Afghanistan! We unfortunately don't have the slightest clue as to what it is; however, it looks very similar to Morganite. We did a quick hardness test and the material is definitely softer than Beryl so that rules out Morganite. The uniform color also indicates that it is not Morganite. Almost all the stones look to be roughly the same color intensity. Please note that this is all select material and the lot is running roughly 95% Top Facet Grade and with an average size of about 9.75 carats!. Most stones should easily cut Eye-clean or better with little effort. Yield on these stones looks like it should be average for the most part. We haven't seen anyone else in the local market with this stone and don't know how large the find was and therefore, this may be the last time you see this! Please note that some of the stones do have a Yellowish color and this is only on the exterior. This material cobbed relatively easily along the Yellowed faults. The Yellowing looks like there is a decent amount of Iron present in the stones and that is what caused the "rusty" Yellowish look. To the lucky buyer, please drop us a line updating us on any information you can gleam off of this! |
