This is a fairly NEW FIND of a lovely Dark Crimson colored Garnet. There is a very slight orangey overtone that is only noticeable in some stones. The lot is composed of fairly large pieces for the most part, however, some of the material has been clipped smaller to show the internal clarity and color. We have included a picture of a clipped piece to show the color and quality of the better material more accurately. We strongly advise on cutting this material under 4 carats because of its depth of the color. A large portion of this lot will cut eye-clean to very slightly included stones with some stones having a very faint sheen that may mask up well with proper orientation. This lot is roughly composed of 70% medium to high grade Facet Rough.

1. There has been a very limited amount of Garnet that has been produced in Afghanistan and it is rarely facet grade. This is one of the few lots of this material that I have seen enter the market.

2. This has not yet been tested and as a result we can't certify the type of Garnet it is. We have taken a few sample stones of this material and are preparing to send them to GIA for a formal analysis in the near future.
