DESCRIPTION:

New Find of Spectacular Diopside fully Terminated Crystals from Skardu, Pakistan. This material has an extremely unusual color that is reminiscent of the Diopside that was mined from Tajikistan that was sold under the name "Tashmarine." Almost every stone in here is fully terminated at least at one end with super luster and razor sharp edges. There is definitely plenty of Facet Rough in here; however, we don't feel that Faceting this would do the material justice because of the rare lustrous terminations. This is ideal material for the crystal collector or seller because of the superior luster and the fact that many stones are doubly terminated. The tips of many of the crystals are extremely clean while the bases are included with some stones showing slight signs of chatoyancy. Overall these are ideally shaped considering their crystal structure and will result in high yield if you ventured to cut them. We have never seen this material in the market before from this location as it is a new find and it may only be from a freak pocket occurrence that Skardu is infamous for. If you like the unusual don't let this slip by you! We have priced this to sell and it is well worth the $.70 Per Carat Price Tag!!

COOL FACTS:
  1. There is a very limited amount of Diopside being produced in Pakistan. There are a few locations in Pakistan that produce Diopside though most is either too dark or seldom clean; however, one can occasionally see an odd lot in the market that is deserving of being called Facet Grade. This material does not contain Chromium and is NOT Chrome Diopside as such. Some Diopside from the location is also known to exhibit color banding that is very unusual for Diopside.
