DESCRIPTION: |
Awesome lot of Rare HUGE SUPER CLEAN Axinite Faceting and Cabbing Rough from Gilgit, Pakistan. This is some of the weirdest material we have EVER seen from this area. It has a weird color that changes on different axis and to top it off there are some cool Cornflower Blue and almost Parrot Green color concentrations in some stones that can be oriented to show as the dominant color in the finished gem with the right orientation and cutting. At times stones appear Pastel to Dark Purple while at other angles you can get a Rose Red to Yellowish Papadrascha Sapphire color. These crystals are SELECT SELECT material from what we purchased and went through and are the largest pieces we have ever seen this clean. You will cut several stones that should be in the 2-4 carat range that are eye-clean or better with a little hard work. We have never seen this material in facet grade in Pakistan with rare exception and have only seen it a handful of times in specimen form. Almost every piece in this lot is a crystal or crystal section and the lot is running conservatively 60%+ facet grade. This is a great oddity to pick up for the collection as we don't know anything that occurs like this stone naturally. |
