DESCRIPTION:

Spectacular lot of the best colored Afghan Tourmaline available running from a Neon Blue Green to a Turquoise Blue. Almost every stone in here is a nice chunky crystal section (Many of the stones in here are practically preformed because of the crystal structure of Tourmaline). ALL OF THESE ARE OPEN C AXIS!

This is SELECT Faceting Rough and practically ALL of the stones in this lot should cut eye-clean or better with the bulk being able to facet 10x clean. A few stones do have some minor inclusions primarily located on the periphery of the rough; however, we are confident that most if not all will facet out with a little planning and hard work!

This is the material that you see retailing for $20.00+ per carat! This is TOP TOP Faceting Grade material having every bad stone picked out and there are quite a few killer pieces in here. We are confident you will get a spectacular finished gem from practically every stone in here with a little work. This is one of the best colored lots we currently have up and it is one of our best deals likely to go quick so don't pass this by!

COOL FACTS:
  1. Afghan Tourmaline pockets tend to be relatively small in size and as a result consistency in color & quality is a rarity! We have rarely seen Afghan Tourmaline sold by the kilo with like colored and quality material and lots are generally small in size seldom going over 1/2-1 kilo.

  2. All Afghan Tourmaline is exhumed from primary deposits and as a result mining costs are considerably higher due to dynamite expenditures and traveling expenditures to get to remote mining areas. It is also interesting to note that since all Afghan Tourmaline is from primary deposits most rough will usually have sharp crystal faces.
