DESCRIPTION:

KILLER lot of Minty Sea-Foam Green to Pastel Pink BICOLORED Afghan Tourmaline SELECT Faceting Rough. Bicolored Tourmaline itself is a rarity and to find it in this quality is a feat within itself! Every one of these has been hand selected for near perfect separation of color and exceptional clarity! Practically every one of these are either a 40/60 or 50/50 split of some of the most breathtaking pastel colors available in Tourmaline.

A few of these do have some very minor inclusions and/or silk where the color separation occurs; however, this is all SELECT Faceting Rough for top custom cutting and ALL of these are chunky crystal sections (Many of the stones in here are practically preformed because of the crystal structure of Tourmaline). These are all a nice size with the average stone weight running almost 8.25 CARATS!

Please note that many if not most of the stones in this lot will cut eye-clean or better with the bulk being able to facet 10x clean. Some stones do have minor inclusions; however, this is typical of Bicolored Tourmaline and we are confident with a little planning and some hard work practically every one of these should yield a spectacular finished gemstone. This is the material that you see retailing for $20.00+ per carat! This is SELECT facet grade material having all the bad stones picked out and there are quite a few killer pieces in here. Don't miss your opportunity to purchase this spectacular lot!

COOL FACTS:
  1. Afghan Tourmaline pockets tend to be relatively small in size and as a result consistency in color & quality is a rarity! We have never seen Afghan Tourmaline sold by the kilo with like colored and quality material and lots are generally small in size seldom going over 1/2-1 kilo.

  2. All Afghan Tourmaline is exhumed from primary deposits and as a result mining costs are considerably higher due to dynamite expenditures and traveling expenditures to get to remote mining areas. It is also interesting to note that since all Afghan Tourmaline is from primary deposits most rough will usually have sharp crystal faces.
