Awesome Lot of Hot Pink to Salmon Nigerian Tourmaline Faceting Rough. Overall the lot looks to be running roughly 30%+ High to Top Facet Grade. All the stones in this parcel have some minor inclusions. Two of the stones look more like Cabbing and/or Semi-Facet Rough while two stones have a good amount of Faceting Rough potential. The two cleaner stones will need to be divided to cut eye-clean or better gems and both look like they are capable of producing such with a little planning. We have priced this taking the two better stones into account and considering the two other stones cabbing grade and you should purchase the material as such.

Due to the inclusions the yield on these will be below average depending on clarity preferences; however, they are all well shaped and the yield should still be decent at worst. If you don't mind some inclusions hidden under the bezel facets your yield will be above average for most of the stones. We have a very limited amount of this material on hand so don't miss out!

Nigerian material, like most African material, has the brownish overtones, darker colors and lacks the vibrancy and life that Afghan (and some Namibian and Nigerian) Tourmaline is known for; however, many Nigerian and African stones can cut beautiful finished gems that rival Afghan material at a faction of the cost. From my experience I don't think quality is even questionable as I still haven't seen any Tourmaline Floor me like the Best Afghani material in its natural crystal form! Afghan Tourmaline can cost an arm and a leg and Nigerian material is a great affordable substitute for everyone to have fun faceting some Tourmaline.
