Awesome Lot of Copper Pink to Pinkish Red Nigerian Tourmaline Faceting Rough. Overall the lot looks to be running roughly 70%+ High to Top Facet Grade. All the stones in this parcel have some minor inclusions; however, each stone should cut eye-clean or better with a little hard work. These stones were selected out of a parcel specifically because they had the potential to cut eye-clean or better but had some inclusions that needed to be worked out and/or around.

Due to the inclusions the yield on these will be below average; however, they are all well shaped and the yield should still be decent at worst. If you don't mind some inclusions hidden under the bezel facets your yield will be above average for most of the stones. We have a very limited amount of this material on hand so don't miss out!

1. Nigerian material, like most African material, has the brownish overtones, darker colors and lacks the vibrancy and life that Afghan (and some Namibian and Nigerian) Tourmaline is known for; however, many Nigerian and African stones can cut beautiful finished gems that rival Afghan material at a faction of the cost. From my experience I don't think quality is even questionable as I still haven't seen any Tourmaline Floor me like the Best Afghani material in its natural crystal form! Afghan Tourmaline can cost an arm and a leg and Nigerian material is a great affordable substitute for everyone to have fun faceting some Tourmaline.
