DESCRIPTION:

Awesome Lot of Bubblegum Pink to Fuchsia Pink Nigerian Tourmaline Faceting Rough. This material is running roughly 75% High to Top Facet Grade. The Electric Pink stone unfortunately has some inclusions; however, a clean stone is possible but it will result in high weight loss. It looks like you could divide the piece into two sections that would be relatively clean as most of the inclusions are concentrated in roughly 1/4 of the rough towards the center. This stone alone is worth the lot price because of its fabulous color.

The second stone is a nice Pink down the C Axis; however, like most Nigerian Tourmaline, the AB Axis is unfortunately a Peachy color. There are some inclusions in here as well; however, 65%+ of the stone is eye-clean or better. This lot has one of the best Pinks I've seen come from Nigeria in a long long time! We have a very limited amount of this material on hand so don't miss out! This is a lot that we personally recommend picking up for the price!

COOL FACTS:
  1. Nigeria has steadily risen to be a powerhouse country for Tourmaline production and is now set to eclipse many traditional sources in sheer volume of material. Overall Nigerian material, like most African material, has the brownish overtones, darker colors and lacks the vibrancy and life that Afghan (and some Namibian and Nigerian) Tourmaline is known for; however, many Nigerian and African stones can cut beautiful finished gems that rival Afghan material. From my experience I don't think quality is even questionable as I still haven't seen any Tourmaline Floor me like the Best Afghani material in its natural crystal form! Afghan Tourmaline can cost an arm and a leg and Nigerian material is a great affordable substitute for everyone to have fun faceting some Tourmaline.
