DESCRIPTION:

Awesome Lot of Deep Fuchsia to Vibrant Pinkish Magenta Red Nigerian Rubellite Tourmaline Faceting Rough. This lot represents some of the fruits of our labor on our recent Trip to Nigeria. This Lot has the most amazing Fuchsia colors that we have EVER seen in Tourmaline and the colors are guaranteed to leave you breathless. Most Nigerian Tourmaline on the market today tends to have excessive Brownish overtones and this Lot is a breath of fresh air from that!! Most stones in here are very slightly to slightly included and most finished stones will probably be Eye-clean to Very Slightly Included; however, roughly 4 stones looked like they may be more suitable for cabbing but we are confident that even they merit faceting because of their intense color! The color on these stones is what makes them stand out and it is rare to get clean material in this color. Many of the stones in here look like perfected Ruby for color and this lot is a STEAL at our price! Most of the stones are nicely shaped for high yield with quite a few bulky crystal sections. We are confident that with a little hard work, proper orientation and a little planning you will take out some profound stones from in here! This is our BEST Red lot so grab it while you can!

COOL FACTS:
  1. Nigeria has steadily risen to be a powerhouse country for Tourmaline production and is now set to eclipse many traditional sources in sheer volume of material. Overall Nigerian material, like most African material, has the brownish overtones, darker colors and lacks the vibrancy and life that Afghan (and some Namibian and Nigerian) Tourmaline is known for; however, many Nigerian and African stones can cut beautiful finished gems that rival Afghan material. From my experience I don't think quality is even questionable as I still haven't seen any Tourmaline Floor me like the Best Afghani material in its natural crystal form! Afghan Tourmaline can cost an arm and a leg and Nigerian material is a great affordable substitute for everyone to have fun faceting some Tourmaline.
