DESCRIPTION:

Awesome lot of Neon Green to Turquoise Blue Afghan Tourmaline Faceting Rough. This lot is primarily a Neon Green to a slightly Bluish Green and there are several strongly Dichroic stones in here. I would say that roughly 80% of this material is Good to High Facet Grade. Most of these stones do have some minor inclusions; however, we are confident with a little hard work and planning you will be able to mask up and/or facet out most inclusions. We have discounted this lot to reflect the nature of the clarity of the material and it is a solid investment as we don't think our price is beatable at the mines!

There are quite a few killer pieces in here and we are confident you will get a few stones from this lot that go over 2-3+ carats at the eye-clean+ level. Practically every stone in the lot is a nice and chunky crystal section capable of giving above average yield. The stones are nice and bright and should hold their color well once cut. The price on this just doesn't get any better!

COOL FACTS:
  1. Afghan Tourmaline pockets tend to be relatively small in size and as a result consistency in color & quality is a rarity! We have never seen Afghan Tourmaline sold by the kilo with like colored and quality material and lots are generally small in size seldom going over 1/2-1 kilo.

  2. All Afghan Tourmaline is exhumed from primary deposits and as a result mining costs are considerably higher due to dynamite expenditures and traveling expenditures to get to remote mining areas. It is also interesting to note that since all Afghan Tourmaline is from primary deposits most rough will usually have sharp crystal faces.
