DESCRIPTION:

Awesome Fuchsia Pink to Scope Blue Nigerian Tourmaline Faceting Rough. These are some lovely colors with a few electric Scope colored stones that will just blow you away. The Scope colored stones are unfortunately NOT clean; however, 2 of the larger stones look like they have nodules internally that are Extremely clean if not eye-clean though you will probably retain only 50% of the rough weight in those stones once they are cobbed clean. Most of the stones are nicely shaped for high weight returns with a few exceptions. Please note that most of the stones in this lot will cut eye-clean or better with the bulk being able to facet 10x clean; however, there are a few very slightly to slightly included stones (roughly 20% but probably far less) and a few of these may facet very slightly to slightly included depending on yield preferences and planning. This material is indicative of some of the best color that Nigeria has to offer in color and is the stuff you see retailing for $5.00+ per carat. We have a limited amount of this on hand so pick this up before it is gone!!

COOL FACTS:
  1. Nigeria has steadily risen to be a powerhouse country for Tourmaline production and is now set to eclipse many traditional sources in sheer volume of material. Overall Nigerian material, like most African material, has the brownish overtones, darker colors and lacks the vibrancy and life that Afghan (and some Namibian and Nigerian) Tourmaline is known for; however, many Nigerian and African stones can cut beautiful finished gems that rival Afghan material. From my experience I don't think quality is even questionable as I still haven't seen any Tourmaline Floor me like the Best Afghani material in its natural crystal form! Afghan Tourmaline can cost an arm and a leg and Nigerian material is a great affordable substitute for everyone to have fun faceting some Tourmaline.
