DESCRIPTION:

Awesome lot of Leafy Neon Green to Yellowish Green Afghan Tourmaline faceting & cabbing rough. This lot is primarily a Neon Green and there are several strongly dichroic stones in here with a few that almost resemble Sunset Tourmaline from Tanzania & Kenya. I would say that roughly 25% of this material is High Facet Grade. Overall most stones are very slightly to moderately included; however, this material is very vibrant and I'm sure you will take out some spectacular finished gems from in here. These stones have been hand selected for cutting and this is another lot that is ideal for either cutting or select rough resale! We have discounted this material and it is being sold as Cabbing Rough.

Practically every stone in the lot is a nice and chunky crystal section capable of giving above average yield. The stones are nice and bright and should hold their color well once cut. The price on this just doesn't get any better!

COOL FACTS:
  1. Afghan Tourmaline pockets tend to be relatively small in size and as a result consistency in color & quality is a rarity! We have never seen Afghan Tourmaline sold by the kilo with like colored and quality material and lots are generally small in size seldom going over 1/2-1 kilo.

  2. All Afghan Tourmaline is exhumed from primary deposits and as a result mining costs are considerably higher due to dynamite expenditures and traveling expenditures to get to remote mining areas. It is also interesting to note that since all Afghan Tourmaline is from primary deposits most rough will usually have sharp crystal faces.
