DESCRIPTION: |
Awesome lot of a fairly New Discovery of Fluorescent Uvite Tourmaline Crystal Rough coming from Wata Poore, Afghanistan. This is the material that was analyzed in a recent issue of Gems & Gemology. This material is mostly transparent and slightly included to moderately included; however, many crystals do have nice gemmy areas that would be ideal for mostly High Grade Cabbing but also some Faceting. This lot is largely comprised of crystals that are very well terminated at least at one end and this material fluoresces a nice chalky yellow to greenish yellow. This is particularly great for all the Fluorescent Mineral and Cut Stone collectors. It is EXTREMELY RARE TO GET FACET GRADE UVITE TOURMALINE as it really is an oddity in the Tourmaline Kingdom. This material is some of the cleanest material available at the moment. Please note that Uvite Tourmaline from Afghanistan or most other locations is RARELY flawless so most stones will have minor inclusions at the least. Please note that these crystals are found in a Talc like matrix and that matrix is clearly evident on some of the crystals. I know there are VERY FEW people selling this material as only a limited amount was produced before mining was halted. It would be quite conceivable that crystals from this lot could retail for $100.00+ as this material is very unusual. I only have a limited amount of this material and have broken it down into 3 lots. The 3 lots were broken primarily by clarity and by who would most benefit from it: Collectors, Cabbers, or Faceters. This was the lot in the middle and is ideally suited for cabbing and some faceting; however, by its very nature it is also well suited for Collectors. |
