Awesome lot of Leafy Neon Green to Bluish Green Afghan Tourmaline faceting rough. This lot is primarily a Neon Green and there are several strongly dichroic stones in here with a few that almost resemble Sunset Tourmaline from Tanzania & Kenya. I would say that roughly 95% of this material is Top Facet Grade. These stones have been hand selected for cutting and this is another lot that is ideal for either cutting or select rough resale! This is the material that you see retailing for $10.00+ per carat!

There are quite a few killer pieces in here and we are confident you will get a few stones from this lot that go over 2 carats at the eye-clean+ level. Most of the stones in this lot will cut eye-clean or better with the bulk being able to facet 10x clean. Practically every stone in the lot is a nice and chunky crystal section capable of giving above average yield. The stones are nice and bright and should hold their color well once cut. The price on this just doesn't get any better!

1. Afghan Tourmaline pockets tend to be relatively small in size and as a result consistency in color & quality is a rarity! We have never seen Afghan Tourmaline sold by the kilo with like colored and quality material and lots are generally small in size seldom going over 1/2-1 kilo.

2. All Afghan Tourmaline is exhumed from primary deposits and as a result mining costs are considerably higher due to dynamite expenditures and traveling expenditures to get to remote mining areas. It is also interesting to note that since all Afghan Tourmaline is from primary deposits most rough will usually have sharp crystal faces.
