Spectacular Lot of Hot Pink to Plum Spinel Faceting Rough from Morogoro, Tanzania. Overall, the lot looks to be running roughly 50%+ High to Top Facet Grade with the remainder being a mix of Cabbing and additional Faceting Rough that needs to be cobbed and/or sawed out. This material is from a primary deposit and you may see a crystal or two in here as a result. The bulk of these are nice and chunky crystal sections shaped for average to above average yield and we are confident you will take out some spectacular finished stones from here! Spinel production in Tanzania is DOWN! The Tunduru mines are practically dry at the surface and any material unearthed from mechanized mining is kept by the mine owners who are generally foreigners. Morogoro material is virtually non existent in sizes over a gram in attractive colors generally commanding prices that are unrealistic. For the price on this parcel you really can't lose! |
