WOWWWWWWWW FOLKS! That is all I can say! In close to a decade we have only seen Pink Spinel from Tajikistan in the rough on a handful of occasions! The color on this is THE MOST INSANE PINK you will probably ever see! This material is from the Tajik/Afghan border, officially from Tajikistan from the Pamir Range in Gorno Badakshan (a stones throw from Afghanistan). The area is unfortunately extremely hot for drug trafficking (Heroin) and as a result everyone who crosses the border is practically strip searched. There are only a handful of people capable of transferring this material out of Tajikistan through Afghanistan because of the "right connections." There are others transferring it through other routes through Russia and we have been hearing that the Russian Mafia is directly involved in the other trading routes. This material is EXTREMELY limited and rarely available.

It is rare to get clean stones from Tajikistan nowadays especially in the larger sizes and prices on location can go up to $2,500 Per Gram for large stones! We are working on securing additional material in larger sizes and better quality but it is a daunting task competing for the material. This stone is 16.03 Carats & Approximately 9x10x16 MM. This is the most beautiful Bubblegum Pink color! The pictures don't do this stone justice as it has to be seen to be fully appreciated. Overall the stone is very clean; however, there are some inclusions and/or veils that you will have to plan for before faceting. Most inclusions in the stone are concentrated on one end or the periphery with roughly 60% of the stone forming a nice solid block for faceting. The solid bock unfortunately has 2 surface fractures that extend a bit into the stone and will force you to divide it into two pieces that should produce Eye-Clean to Very Slightly Included finished gems. The two sections you divide the solid block on will be a bit odd shaped; however, we are confident you will take out some spectacular stones from this piece! You don't see too many pieces this size in life so grab it before it is gone!
