Lovely Lot of a fairly NEW FIND of unusual Tanzanian Scapolite Crystal Facet Rough! These stones were selected out of a large parcel of Scapolite we purchased some time back due to their unusual inclusions that seem identical to Schiller found in some Sunstone localities. Right down to the color and the zoning I think you could have mistaken at least one of these for a Sunstone had you not seen the crystal faces on the exterior!

Most of these stones are a nice medium color and we would say that if cut for the Schiller 90%+ of this material is High to Top Facet Grade. The Schiller is off at an end on some of the stones; however, with proper orientation I'm confident you will take out some spectacular finished gemstones from this parcel!

These are not small stones and the average weight is about 12 CARATS! Most of the stones in here are crystal sections with many stones showing partial terminations and this material is ideally shaped for high yield. At $.80 Per Carat how could you go wrong?

1. Yellow Scapolite turns a nice Purple and Lavender once Irradiated in a cobalt 60 unit at 400-500 Megarads. Post and Prior heating lightens color saturation.
