Super Lot of Pinkish Purple to Purplish Pink Tanzanian Umba Sapphire Faceting Rough. This lot is comprised of one Umba Sapphire. The piece is decently shaped for the locality and should result in average to above average yield with a little hard work depending on clarity preferences.

The stone overall looks roughly 30% High to Top Facet Grade with the cleaner area concentrated towards one side while the bulk of the remainder is probably more rightly classified as Cabbing Rough. This stone is from the Umba region and as such it may have a color change to it; however, we did not have an opportunity to look for any color change and therefore are selling it as is.

Please note that this is 100% natural material and the stone does have nice vivid color. We have seen many sellers selling Sapphire such as this and charging an arm & a leg and/or selling light colors advising that the stones are capable of being treated - THAT IS NOT THE CASE WITH THIS! 1. During a recent trip to Tanzania we were informed that there was an outbreak of violence at the Umba Sapphire mines and that at least one person had been killed bringing most mining to a halt. I'm confident that mining has been restarted; however, production is nowhere near what it once was and prices continue to escalate.
