Nice lot of Cornflower Blue to Yellow Parti Color SELECT Sapphire Faceting Rough from Lodwar, Kenya! The lot is running roughly 90% Top Facet Grade with the bulk of the lot capable of cutting eye-clean or better with a little hard work.

The bulk of these are nice blocky pieces shaped for high yield and we are confident you will get many spectacular finished gems from this parcel! The color on this material is similar to what we typically see from Australia and there really is no way to distinguish between the two from our general analysis on physical features. 1. Over the last few years we have seen Sapphire available through Tanzania similar to the typical material produced in Nigeria and Australia. This lot represents a sample of the material. We seem to have narrowed down the origin to Lodwar, Kenya; however, that is a major city in Kenya and the material is most likely produced in an area with close proximity to the location or quite possible not. We have also seen material similar to this produced in Burundi; however, the origin of that material is not certain either.
