This is a miscellaneous lot of Cornflower Blue to Greenish Blue Sapphire Faceting Rough from East Africa. This material was sold to us mixed with a batch of other rough we purchased on our last trip and stuck out as odd. The material is relatively small averaging in at about 1.25 carats; however, most of this is clean material. The lot looks mixed as far as origin goes and probably runs from Kenyan to Tanzanian material judging from the rough. We have discounted this to move quick!

1. Tanzania is a hot spot for Sapphire Rough; however, over the last few years many dealers for Tanzanian Mine Direct rough have been shooting their prices up through the roof. This increase has largely been unwarranted in the smaller sizes of sapphire which are readily available in Tanzania at reasonable prices.
