DESCRIPTION:

Nice lot of Cornflower Blue to Yellowish Green Sapphire Faceting & Cabbing Rough from Lodwar, Kenya! The lot is running roughly 65% Medium to High Facet Grade with the bulk of the remainder being Cabbing Grade. Most of the cabbing grade material is not excessively fractured or included but is heavily silked resembling typical Gouda material. Heating may enhance the included material; however, we don't have too much experience in treating sapphires and can't guarantee any specific results.

The bulk of these are nice blocky pieces shaped for high yield and we are confident you will get many spectacular finished gems from this parcel! The color on this material is similar to what we typically sell from Nigeria and there really is no way to distinguish between the two from our general analysis on physical features. This is one of the best values we currently have up and we are confident that our prices will not be matched on this material! Grab this before it is gone!

COOL FACTS:
  1. Over the last few years we have seen Sapphire available through Tanzania similar to the typical material produced in Nigeria and Australia. This lot represents a sample of the material. We seem to have narrowed down the origin to Lodwar, Kenya; however, that is a major city in Kenya and the material is most likely produced in an area with close proximity to the location or quite possible not. We have also seen material similar to this produced in Burundi; however, the origin of that material is not certain either.
