Pastel Pink to Purple Sapphire Faceting & Cabbing Rough Lot. This is an odd lot that was part of a buy-out we did some time ago on the West Coast. The lot has been sitting here gathering dust and we are just moving it out to make room for additional acquisitions and to clear-up inventory.

We do not know for certain where the parcel is from; however, from our experience with rough the gut feeling is the material is Tanzanian in origin. There is a slight possibility that the material could be Sri Lankan but that possibility is very slight.

We have not tested this for color-change and haven't really looked at it very thoroughly and what you see is basically what you get. The parcel is being sold as Cabbing Rough; however, there may be some small facetable areas in some of the stones. We don't plan on getting more as this was a one time buy-out and other than the above we only have 1 additional stone of said material that will be placed on our next Select E-Newsletter! The lot is priced to sell so don't miss out!

1. During our recent trip to Tanzania we were informed that there was an outbreak of violence at the Umba Sapphire mines and that at least one person had been killed bringing most mining to a halt. I'm confident that mining has since been restarted; however, production is nowhere near what it once was and prices continue to escalate.
