DESCRIPTION:

Awesome lot of Deep Peacock Purple to Pinkish Purple Pakistani Sapphire Crystal Rough! Most of this lot is comprised of chunky crystal sections showing at least partial termination with sharp edges and striations. The material overall is specimen and cab grade rough and it is being sold as such; however, there may be some small facet grade material in this lot. The color on these stones sets them apart as being extremely unusual and very appealing. We recommend this lot for the Specimen collector and/or the cabber as this is extremely fine material and a nice rarity for the collection! Please note that there may be an odd Spinel or two in this lot as the stones tend to form together. We have done our best to go through the material and separate the two; however, we may have missed a few.

COOL FACTS:
  1. Hunza has been producing Sapphire for quite some time now; however, rarely has there been production on any significant scale. The last few years has seen a shift in this production and with several new deposits unearthed in the last few years this material has begun to trickle into the marketplace. The color on the Sapphire from Hunza is usually a very lovely Peacock Purple or Pinkish Purple and there is almost a glow to the stones that uniquely identify them as originating in Hunza. Much of the material looks as though it contains a very fine velvety overtone that is reminiscent of the legendary Kashmir material; however, facet grade rough is a rarity.
