DESCRIPTION: |
Awesome lot of RAREEEEEEEEEE NATURAL INSANE Electric Pinkish Red to Vibrant Blood Red Ruby Facet & Cabbing Rough from Tajikistan! This material has some of the most breathtaking Electric Red color we have ever seen in rough Ruby and when you look at this under a Chelsea Filter it is just mind blowing at how intense the Red is! This material is VERY sporadically produced and we were EXTREMELY lucky to be able to acquire a parcel! Most of the material is cabbing grade; however, there are some nice gemmy areas in this that will produce some spectacular finished gems. Most will be under a carat if you are aiming for the highest clarity and we are confident you will take out several almost eye-clean stones that are under a carat if you went for clarity; however, you will take out several larger stones if you go for the larger stones with inclusions. 3-4 stones in here are exceptional and very gemmy and I'm sure if you cut one or two of those you should easily be able to pay for the lot. It is very difficult to accurately convey the Facet Grade percentage on the lot as clarity for Ruby is VERY subjective. We are estimating that roughly 10% of this material is some type of facet grade; however, we are confident that the average faceter will consider a larger percentage Facet Grade particularly the Ruby connoisseur. The pictures unfortunately don't do this material justice and it has to be seen to be fully appreciated! It is very difficult to find Ruby in the rough in Pakistan from anywhere in the region at a decent price and clarity. Most good quality rough is cut instantly because of the premium it commands even if the cutting is poor in the local markets. This is not the best quality Ruby in the world; however, it is well worth the price we have on it. If this were clean we wouldn't be asking less than $40K for the largest stone alone! Please note that many stones do exhibit silk inclusions that Corundum in general and Ruby in particular are known for and many stones may significantly clean up with proper heat treatment. We have NOT experimented on this rough with treatment and therefore can't advise you on particulars nor guarantee this but we have heard quite a few local sellers claim that heating has worked miracles on the rough. This is a lot we PERSONALLY recommend and our price on this is as close to cost as you can get! There really is no way you can lose on this lot at our price! |
