DESCRIPTION: |
Great lot of bright vibrant Apple Green Peridot from Supatt, Pakistan. This is a sweet lot of facet and cab grade rough. The larger portion of the stones in this lot should cut eye-clean to slightly included with a little work; however, there are quite a few stones that will cut in the slightly to moderately included end. We estimate that roughly 40%+ of this lot is medium to high grade facet rough while the remainder is a mix of Cabbing Rough and some additional Faceting Rough that will need to be sawed and/or cobbed out. Please note that many of these stones do have some inclusions and the white veiling common to Pakistani Peridot; however, I'm confident with a little hard work and some grinding you should be able to produce some spectacular gemstones from this lot. Our estimates on the parcel are conservative and we are confident that the purchaser will be THRILLED with the value of this parcel particularly for the price! It is important to note that this material is from one particular mine in the Supatt area that is known to produce Peridot. This particular mine generally only produces crystals that have a sharp tip and a satin finish. Most of the material from this mine is generally very clean unlike some of the other Peridot mines in Pakistan. This particular mine unfortunately coats some of the crystals in a slightly rusty exterior which may give the appearance of the material being more Yellowish; however, this is the same colored material known around from Pakistan. This mine is actually one of the two preferred mines for production as it is unusually cleaner than the other mines. The other well known mine typically produces the White Clay/Asbestos covered Peridot that looks more rounded and almost nodular Lot Peridot-50 is from that particular mine. Most of the pieces in this lot are uniform in color consisting of the Apple Green that Pakistan is known for without the Olive overtones. There are some lovely stones in here and the lot is well worth the price! This is a liquidation price we have on this just to move it out the door so don't miss out!!! You couldn't get this material for this price at the MINES in Pakistan at this time!! |
