DESCRIPTION: |
Awesome lot of bright vibrant Apple Green Peridot from Supatt, Pakistan. This is a sweet lot of mostly High to Top Facet Grade Rough! Most stones in this lot should cut eye-clean to very slightly included with a little effort. Please note that some of these stones do have some inclusions and the white veiling common to Pakistani Peridot; however, I'm confident with a little hard work and some grinding you should be able to produce some spectacular gemstones from this lot. We estimate that roughly 75%+ of this lot is High to Top grade Facet Rough with the remainder being a mixture of Cabbing and additional Faceting Rough. It is important to note that this material is from one particular mine in the Supatt area that is known to produce Peridot. This particular mine generally only produces crystals that have a sharp tip and a satin finish. Most of the material from this mine is generally very clean unlike some of the other Peridot mines in Pakistan. This particular mine unfortunately coats some of the crystals in a slightly rusty exterior which may give the appearance of the material being more Yellowish; however, this is the same colored material known around from Pakistan. This mine is actually one of the two preferred mines for production as it is unusually cleaner than the other mines. The other well known mine typically produces the White Clay/Asbestos covered Peridot that looks more rounded and almost nodular Lot Peridot-50 is from that particular mine. Most of the pieces in this lot are uniform in color consisting of the Apple Green that Pakistan is known for without the Olive overtones. There are some lovely stones in here and the lot is well worth the price! Please note that the mines in Supatt, Pakistan are almost depleted. We don't anticipate seeing a steady supply of the high caliber material for more than a few more years from Pakistan and prices on location have already doubled over last year. Clean material is becoming very difficult to acquire on location and as the material currently in the international markets is sold it will be next to impossible to replace! Don't miss your chance on acquiring some of this material before it is all gone! |
