DESCRIPTION:

New find of Spessartite and/or Hessonite Garnet coming from Tanzania! Please note that this material was sold to us as Spessartite; however, we have not tested it and therefore can't certify which species of Garnet it is or may be. The color of this material is just phenomenal and runs from a lovely almost Mandarin Orange to a fiery Tangerine with Red Flashes! Please be aware that this rough is probably a mixture of Spessartite and/or Hessonite (Possibly other Garnets as well) which are generally included species of Garnet. It is extremely difficult to acquire eye-clean to flawless rough in either species. Many of these stones are remarkably clean for this type of Garnet. There are inclusions in some of the rough though nothing overwhelming; however, most inclusions tend to mask up well because of the high refractive index of this material or will facet out.

We have rough graded this material as being 80%+ high facet grade and there are some KILLER stones in here. The clarity on this material is MUCH better than your TYPICAL Nigerian and Namibian Mandarin Garnet and is guaranteed to please! Most stones will cut eye-clean to very slightly included at the least; however, you may be able to get quite a few eye-clean stones out of this lot with a little work. We are conservatively estimating that the bulk of this material will cut eye-clean to very slightly included stones. Don't miss your chance on picking up this lot as we don't know when we will be getting more!

COOL FACTS:
  1. This material was sold to us as Spessartite Garnet; however, we have not tested it and therefore can't certify whether it is or is not. The material has some very unusual inclusions in much of the rough that we have never before seen in Garnet. We are working on establishing a steady supply of this rough and will hopefully be listing more in the coming months.
