This is a new find of Spessartite and/or Hessonite Garnet coming from Afghanistan. The color of this material is just phenomenal and it falls into a very broad spectrum! Please be aware that this rough is a probably a mixture of Spessartite Rough and/or Hessonite Rough (Possibly other Garnet as well) which are generally included species of Garnet and hence, it is extremely difficult to acquire eye-clean to flawless rough in either species. This material is being sold strictly as cabbing and carving grade and should be purchased as such. Most stones are moderately to heavily included; however, there may be some nice gemmy areas but there are no guarantees. These pieces overall are nice and chunky sections running an average weight of about 70+ carats! This is great material to practice those new carving designs with or even Cabbing. We don't really purchase too much material of this grade and are really just blowing this out so don't miss your opportunity to purchase it as it is a steal for the price.
