Awesome NEW FIND of Garnet Faceting & Cabbing Rough coming from Tanzania! We have had a piece of the material from this batch cut and analyzed and we were told it was Almandine Spessartite; however, there appear to be a few types of Garnets mixed in here with most having a shade of Orange and therefore we can't guarantee what species all of the Garnets are. Some of this is similar in color to Malaya Garnet with some having the classing Salmon color of Top Malaya though most of this is a nice shade of Orange. This material is distinct from what we sell as "Tunduru" Garnet and should not be confused with such.

The color of this material is just phenomenal and runs from a lovely almost Mandarin Orange to a fiery Tangerine with Red Flashes! Please be aware that this rough is probably a hybrid Spessartite (possibly other Garnets as well) which is generally an included species of Garnet. Many of these stones are remarkably clean for this type of Garnet and were selected from several kilos of material. There are inclusions in MOST of the rough which is to be expected; however, most inclusions tend to mask up well because of the high refractive index of this material.

We have rough graded this material as being 50%+ Medium to Top Facet Grade with the remainder being mostly Low Facet Grade. Most stones will cut very slightly included at best; however, you may be able to get quite a few eye-clean or better stones out of this lot with a little hard work. Don't miss your chance on picking up this lot as this material moves fast and we have heavily discounted it due to the clarity!
