Spectacular lot of Mandarin Garnet Cabbing and Faceting Rough from Nigeria with the most spectacular pure Orange to Reddish Orange color. These are nice chunky water worn nodules for the most part with a bright Mandarin Orange color. This material is being sold as Cabbing rough and should be purchased as such; however, there are a few stones with very gemmy areas and we have seen far lower quality faceted in this material. This is NOT small material with an average size of almost 10 CARATS!

Most of these stones do have inclusions with the bulk being slightly to moderately included; however, we are confident that you will take out some killer stones from this parcel. These inclusions are typical for this Garnet species and it is extremely rare to find clean Mandarin Garnet rough. Most finished stones will be slightly to moderately included at best and should cut in the 2-4 carat range if cut for yield. This is an old lot we had laying around and only recently unearthed. This is some great material that we are offering at a discounted price. Our price on this is better than most Nigerians and we are confident that this will make any experienced Mandarin Garnet connoisseur VERYYYYY happy.

1. Nigerian and Namibian Mandarin Garnet deposits are fast being depleted with most of the earlier larger material gone already. Initial finds were alluvial in nature and as those sources are depleted more work will be required to unearth these treasures at the primary deposits. This in the end will boil down to higher prices and sporadic production.
