Awesome Lot of Vibrant Cranberry Red to Ruby Red Nigerian Rhodolite Garnet Faceting Rough Lot. This lot represents some of the fruits of our labor on our recent Trip to Nigeria and we are hopeful of establishing a steady supply of this in the future. Please note that this material has not been tested and therefore we can not guarantee that it is Rhodolite; however, the natural etchings on the exterior of many stones which are unique to Rhodolite as well as the physical appearance of the rough clearly distinguish it as being such.

This is 80%+ High Facet Grade material with most stones capable of producing eye-clean or better. There are a few stones in here that are included; however, they are a small percentage of the lot as a whole. The material overall is a mix as far as color goes with roughly 50% or so passing the white paper test whereas the larger material tends to get darker. We are confident that the material should brighten up significantly with faceting as the rough sheds off its excess mass. The lot is priced to sell so don't miss out.

1. Nigerian and Namibian Mandarin Garnet deposits are fast being depleted with most of the earlier larger material gone already. Initial finds were alluvial in nature and as those sources are depleted more work will be required to unearth these treasures at the primary deposits. This in the end will boil down to higher prices and sporadic production.
