DESCRIPTION:

Awesome lot of a Blood Red to Ruby Red colored Spessartite Garnet Crystals from Kashmir, Pakistan. This is the legendary material that is referred to as "Kashmirine" and was written about previously in Gems & Gemology. From our understanding the mines in Kashmir are depleted and we don't know how we came across this material as there really isn't any in the local markets nor has there been for years other than 1 Person we ran into that was charging an outrageous price for a handful of larger stones.

This lot is composed of very gemmy etched Spessartite Garnet Crystals. Much of the rough is facet grade but we would hate to see someone put this material to a lap! One of these crystals in particular is what the lot is being sold on which is a naturally etched crystal that very closely resembles a blooming flower. As can be seen in the above pictures the one piece really is a VERY unusual natural occurrence unlike anything we have encountered in the past. There is also a larger piece that looks similar but it isn't a breathtaking as the smaller piece. Most of these are etched in some very unusual patterns and they would be great for an unusual jewelry project or for metaphysical purposes. We have never encountered such crystals before and we would strongly suggest grabbing this lot while it is still available as we doubt you will ever see such a lot again!

COOL FACTS:
  1. Kashmirine is highly sought after by collectors. The initial find in Kashmir looked very promising; however, after a few months of mining most of the material dried up and it is rarely seen in the market.
