This is a SUPER lot of Spessartite and/or Hessonite Garnet coming from Afghanistan. The color of this material is just phenomenal and runs from a lovely almost Mandarin Orange to a fiery Tangerine with Red Flashes! This lot represents the best material we have seen to date!!!

Please be aware that this rough is a mixture of Spessartite and/or Hessonite (Possibly other Garnets as well) which are generally included species of Garnet. It is extremely difficult to acquire eye-clean to flawless rough in either species. Most of this material WILL cut very slightly to slightly included gems. These inclusions should NOT significantly impact the cleaner finished stones. This lot is running roughly 75%+ High Facet Grade and there are some KILLER stones in here with the bulk looking like they will yield eye-clean to very slightly included finished gems with a little hard work. The clarity on this material is generally very similar to your TYPICAL Nigerian and Namibian Mandarin Garnet; however, this lot is composed of very glassy pieces like we have never seen come from Afghanistan before!
